The waiting, is the hardest part

So said a famous philosopher once, and it’s as true today as it ever was.

Chez Bland Designs was a flurry of small jobs this week as finishing touches are being done in preparation for final council inspection

Ensuite shower fittings were, umm, fitted

Also pictured containing Sprog1. You can just see the metal rail where the glass panel is due to be fitted on Monday.

Taps and waste disposals and other assorted plumbing has been installed

See this? The airswitch? Just the cover. $30.

Someone handled fitting all the handles. Heh. Handled. Priceless.

The stairs to the kids’ room, err, I mean to the attic storage were installed
(Fun fact, apparently these were ripe for being pinched from building sites. Apparently there’s some massive black market in attic stairs. The more you know, eh?)

Bathrooms actually look like bathrooms now. (These two pics courtesy of Mrs Bland Designs)

Wardrobe rails were installed. Principal requirement for these was “cheap” until we can redo them later.

Power meters were installed,

By this guy. Who was Irish. Deedle dee dee.

So, big week this week;
Painters are in to compete their thing.
Sparkies are scheduled to finish Monday
Plumbers should also finish Monday.
Topsoil is due on Tuesday

And, most pants-wettingly exciting of all, we should have final Council inspection this week! So if Jedward stamps the book (or whatever the hell it is he does to earn his keep), then we have a completed house!

Wooooo!
