Bonus blog! So close you can taste it

Greetings Blandies, A flurry of finishing trades graced Chez Bland Designs this week,  The gasfitter came and finished off all the bits and pieces; Not shown, gas bottles. We still need to get those sorted.  Also, the water heaters. Fun fact, the gasfitter had to finish all his bits at once cos the next day he was getting on a plane to England to go and play bowls! I know, right? Like a world champs or something. Weird.  The sparkies finished their fit-off;  Lights (and Sprogs More lights.  Sewage pump control thingy.  That LED mirror though. I mean.  The glass for the shower was finally fitted. It’s very hard to get a decent photo of a pane of glass.  So the plumbers also came to finish of their bits and pieces. This included fitting the four fancy pants taps that we’d provided. Apparently, two of the four taps we supplied leak. This seems a remarkable coincidence but as we have sod-all time, we’ve bought a couple of cheap mixers to put in so we ...

The waiting, is the hardest part

So said a famous philosopher once, and it’s as true today as it ever was.  Chez Bland Designs was a flurry of small jobs this week as finishing touches are being done in preparation for final council inspection Ensuite shower fittings were, umm, fitted  Also pictured containing Sprog1. You can just see the metal rail where the glass panel is due to be fitted on Monday.  Taps and waste disposals and other assorted plumbing has been installed  See this? The airswitch? Just the cover. $30.  Someone handled fitting all the handles. Heh. Handled. Priceless.  The stairs to the kids’ room, err, I mean to the attic storage were installed  (Fun fact, apparently these were ripe for being pinched from building sites. Apparently there’s some massive black market in attic stairs. The more you know, eh?) Bathrooms actually look like bathrooms now.
