We're clad, we're clad. Shamon.

(Is that how you spell "shamon"? It's a Michael Jackson reference. He's been quiet lately, hasn't he?)

Anyway, current update since the last time I graced you with my brain farts.

Cladding is complete!

You have to imagine it without the scaffolding.

Pictured; all arty with angles and contrast and whatnot. The weather here is typical Auckland weather and nothing out of the ordinary. Long time readers will recall the shitfight that ensued due to the recess boxes. One of them is pictured.

Sparky completed their first fix, including a couple of KM of various cable.

Apparently, they know what all these are for. All I know is, I need to sell at least one kidney to pay for it. Anyone wanna buy a kidney? One careful owner, etc.

The missing heatpump installers decided to grace us with their presence and do their first fix, which was required for cladding to carry on.

Finally!!!

And my wife and I decided that, rather than pay someone with a digger to fill in then power trench, that "we" would do it to save it a few bucks. Cue, me, with a spade, in the hammering down rain shifting about 3m3 of wet mud and clay.

Fun times. Next time, we'll pay the damn digger.

Next steps. Well, tomorrow the insulation installers are scheduled to (spoiler!) install the insulation.

Friday, we have a preline inspection, which the PM reckons we'll fail (I'm getting a bit sick of his optimism, tbh) because the local council inspector is being a pain in the arse with all the firewalls in the street.

And hopefully, gib can start being attached (?), installed (?), hung (?) next week.

Also, next door neighbours got their framing up and then, in a totally un-Auckland manner, it hammered down with rain and turned their house into a minor paddling pool.

That water has been sitting there for days. The bottom of that framing is gonna be damp as, bro. There's still about 5cm of water. Awks.
